"No, you don't have to get up yet," Yuhed said, pushing Forest back down into the chair. "I still have to saddle Fornan up, and give you two your medicine." Yuhed walked outside.
"What's all this about anyway?" Matt asked curiously.
"You'll find out." Filla replied.
They waited in silence untill Yuhed came back and had given the girls their medicine. Then Forest rose shakily to her feet and proceeded to go outside with Filla following close beside her.
Yuhed began to lift Quenum up but Matt shook his head and waved her off.
"I can get her," he said. "She's not that heavy." He lifted her up carried her out the door, with her arms around his neck holding on for dear life.
"You'd better not drop me," Quenum warned.
"And have BOTH your sisters kill me? No, I won't drop you." He winced.
"What's wrong?"
"It's nothing, just my hand." he replied with another wince.
"Oh, Matt, Yuhed's going to have your hide."
"Not if she can't find it."
Yuhed and Filla lifted Forest into a saddle, then went over and helped Matt get Quenum into another. Matt sat behind Quenum, helping to keep her up-right, and Yuhed did the same with Forest. Filla rode her own horse, and soon they were at the temple.
They dismounted, with only a small scream from Quenum. (of which Forest laughed at) This time Matt helped Forest along, using his good arm, and Yuhed carried Quenum, while Filla led.
They entered a study and both the girls plopped down into a chair. Filla went striaght to the book she had been reading out of before she had left and opened it to the page she had marked.
Yuhed went over to her and the two began discussing in low murmers.
Suddenly Forest's eyes went wide.
"What is it, Forest?" Quenum asked, speaking in twin unconsously.
"They've found a cure!" Forest whispered. Also speaking in twin.
"I wish you two would talk normal, so that I could understand," Matt had looked up from nursing his hand. "What's 'Goker nesbetm jusdeto' supposed to mean anyway?"
Quenum and Forest looked at each other, confused. "Goker nesbetm jusdeto?" Forest asked.
"Ok, whatever it was that you said, what was it?"
Yuhed turned around an uncertain smile on her face. "Girls, I think we've found a cure."
"What's the cure?" Quenum asked after a long period of silence.
"It's sort of like a spell," Yuhed replied. "We have to find something called the Laguz."
"I don't understand how it can be called a spell, exacly, but finding what ever this 'Laguz thing shouldn't be too hard." Forest said. "You and Filla can go get it, then bring it back here."
"No, you see, this is what makes it like a spell." Filla explained. "No-one can go and get it and bring it back here. Both of you must go to it, with your gardian and one close friend. No one else. I get the impression that this Laguz is a stone, but I can't be sure of that."
"So you mean that," Forest started.
"Only me and Forest and Yuhed and Matt can go?" Quenum finished.
"Exactly," Filla said.
"But how are we going to go?" asked Forest. "I mean, it was hard enough just getting here, to the temple, how are we going to go all over the continent? And what are we going to do to take Matt?"
"We'll tell Matt's parents what's going on, and we'll ride horses like we did to get here." Yuhed sighed. "That's all we can do."
"You can stay the night here," Filla offered. "There's no reason for you to have to take the girls home tonight, it'll be too much for them."
Yuhed sighed again. "You're right, Filla. Thank-you so much, I don't know what we would have done without you."
