The trip in between mealtimes was rather uneventful. A few colorful birds flitted by and Quenum mentioned somethign about seeing their dragon hero from before appearing in the sky, but she was a bit of a daydreamer after all. As they finally reached the next stop, Matt and Quenum kept giggling as if they were telling jokes to each other, but neither of them was speaking. Forest was becoming quite annoyed by this childish behavior, and as Yuhed left to get some firewood, she snidely asked what they were laughing about.
"You two sound like you're having lots of 'fun' over there. Did Yuhed already tell you about the difference between boys and girls?"
Matt grumbled at Forest and uttered "Bitte nom bgnk lavahktha," blinked surprisingly, and slapped his mouth shut. Quenum gasped in shock and Forest just grinned ear to ear.
"OOOH! Just wait till I tell Yuhed what YOU said!" she giggled.
"I didn't mean it!" Matt squealed, eyes wide open.
Forest just kept laughing sadistically.
"You said it, though," she grinned maliciously, "And Yuhed's gonna' have your hide when she hears about it!"
Matt grumbled "not if she can't find it."
"Wait!" Quenum said, hopping between the friends-at-war, "Forest... doesn't it seem strange to you how he said that?"
Forest rolled her eyes. "No, it's not weird at all that he told me to 'shove it up my...'"
"NO!" Quenum shouted, "I mean he said it in our language! Matt, how did you do that?"
Matt blinked nervously for a few minutes, sweating steadily and a crooked smile spread across his face. "Beats me," he muttered.
-This is freaking me out, Forest- Quenum thought.
-Maybe twin language is like an STD or something and he caught it...- Forest hinted with a giggle in her brain.
-QUENUM AND I DIDN'T DO ANYTHIN-- what's an STD?- Matt thought.
