One day while Yuhed was out walking in the woods, her favorite thing to do when not taking care of the girls. Not far from the stream that she walked along was a grove, something moved behind one of the trees. Yuhed went closer to see what it was. She smiled warmly when she seen the young black stag. She went to it in hope of petting it, but it ran away. Saddened she looked around where it had been.
It was then she seen the off colored yellow fruit, in the shape of a melon, and the size of a apple. She picked a dozen or so from the bush and carried them home. She checked in on the girls who were still playing their 'I spy with my eye' game with Matt, she thanked the old lady for watching the girls, and started to clean the fruits. After the fruit was clean, she cut them into slices, half a fruit for them each.
"Ok Matt, I think it's time for you to go," Yuhed said, "The girls need something to eat and some sleep."
"Ok, see you girls later," then Matt was out the door.
"Girls," Yuhed said, "I've got you something to eat untill supper is ready."
Yuhed handed the girls a few slices of the fruit, and watched them eat every lest bit.
"Mmmmm, tast like Strawberrys! I love Strawberrys!" Forest said with delight.
"No, it tastes like blueberrys!" Yelled her sister.

Matt trudged home, feeling a tad disappointed that he couldn't spend more time with the girls. It's not that he hated being human, but he DID feel a little left out sometimes. Quenum and Forest were the only real friends he had. And now... what if they died? He didn't want to think about it, but it seemed like such a real possibility.
"...I'm a little fire bug,
fireing and fireish,
settin' fires everywhere,
while trippin' on some weed...."
Matt took a deep breath. Singing the song that Forest had written didn't help much to cheer him up, it only reminded him of his friends... and how he felt about them... how they were a little more than friends to him.
